Sunday

Sunday, we went to church with Maggie and Jerry at Calvary Episcopal in Batavia, IL. There is no choir in the summer so we didn't sing as we usually do. Father Mike gave a thoughtful sermon on Abraham.

We went to church in separate cars so that Ellen and I could meet our friend, Carol, at 1pm for lunch. We went to Alrxander's, as we usually do, had a very nice lunch, and then went back to see Carol's new apartment in a senior housing complex in Elgin. It is smaller than her former apartment, but the big advantage is there are no stairs. It is quite spacious and there are a lot of common areas in the complex as well. She also has a little patio overlooking an inner courtyard. We visited pretty much the afternoon.

Tonight, we will be at home! We 'll be driving through the Lakes District of New York along the way.
